Mogilev Region Governor Boris Batura has received representatives of the OSCE election observation mission to discuss matters relating to the parliamentary elections in Belarus, Interfax-West reports.
Batura told the OSCE delegation that the local authorities will do their best to make sure Mogilev Region holds free and fair parliamentary elections in conformity with acting legislation.
In turn, OSCE observer Florance Mardirosyan informed there would be three OSCE groups to monitor the course of election preparations in Mogilev Region at early stages.
She also informed there would more OSCE groups coming as the election campaign reaches its peak.
The OSCE representative emphasized that their principle was not to interfere with the election process and present their conclusions at the end.
At the meeting with the governor OSCE group members would inquire about the makeup of the staff of the balloting stations and the role of the local administrations in assisting election commissions with the election campaign.
