An international scientific conference on the Great Northern War (1700-1721) will be held in Mogilev on October 4, Interfax-West learnt from the Ideology Department of Mogilev Region Administration.
The conference will be dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian victory over the Swedish army by the village of Lesnaya, the source explained.
The conference is expected to reveal some previously unknown documents related to the battle from the Royal Archives of Sweden.
Historians and archeologists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Latvia are expected to partake in the conference. They will deliver around 60 reports about the Great Northern War. The participants will have a chance to visit the battlefield.
