Mogilev Ice-Cream Factory OJSC earned a net profit of BYR 839 million in January-September 2008, or 75% up on the year, a company representative told Interfax-West.
The source attributes the growth to a number of factors, such as the purchase of a new refrigerator with the capacity of 50 tonnes.
The refrigerator enabled the company to save BYR 70 million, the source informed.
In addition, the company launched corrugated boxes. In summertime the factory made 70,000-80,000 boxes monthly, and by the end of October the monthly output of boxes is expected to reach 200,000.
Besides, the factory is going to launch cottage cheese in January 2009.
Next year the company is planning to renew its ice-cream range by 30-40%.
In January-September 2008 the company sold 1,400 tonnes of ice-cream, or 6% up on the year. The sales in other Belarusian region except Mogilev Region grew 26% to reach 450 tonnes.
Mogilev Ice-Cream Factory was founded in 1991 on the basis of the ice-cream shop of Mogilev Dairy Plant. The company makes ice-cream, chocolate-glazed curd bars and mayonnaise.
