Mogilev Jelly Factory plans to increase its share in the domestic market for packed gelatin, a company representative told Interfax-West.
Presently, half of the Belarusian jelly market is dominated by imported gelatin. By the end of the year Mogilev Jelly Factory is determined to increase its share by 2-5%. In the long run, the company plans to make Belarus self-sufficient in gelatin.
Over January-August 2008 the company produced 697 tonnes of jelly (25.1% up on the year), including 662 tonnes of food jelly (27.6% up).
Mogilev Jelly Factory is Belarus’ only company processing by-products of meat-packing factory and hide mills. The company produced food and technical gelatin, glue, bone flour and DOPINAT supplement.
The company runs an ISO 9000 quality control system.
The company was established in 1937 to become a joint stock company in 1996.
