Mogilev Metallurgical Plant OJSC is implementing a number of investment projects that are expected to boost the efficiency of its production facilities, a company representative told Interfax.

The projects stipulate the reconstruction and upgrading of a foundry shop n the steel pipes shop, the source specified.

In 2007 the plant produced BYR 236.3 billion worth of goods, or 9% up on the year. Consumer goods output grew 8% to reach BYR 4.2 billion. The net profit of the company totalled BYR 7 billion (against BYR 4.5 billion in 2006).

Mogilev Metallurgical Plant produces longitudinal welded tubes, water and gas pipes, steel shapes, cast-iron stand-pipes for rubber sealing washers, and cast-iron shot. All in all, there are 250 types of tubes on the plant's production list. The plant manufactures round steel pipes size 20 mm to 89 mm, shapes steel pipes size 20x20 mm to 60x60 mm. In addition, the plant makes over 160 kinds of consumer goods.

Since 2006 Mogilev Metallurgical Plant has been part of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant Production Association, which comprises Rechitsa Hardware Plant and Orsha Knitting Machines Plant.
