Mogilev opened “SOS-Children’s Village”.

The curator of the social project, chief of the International Charity Organization “SOS Children's Villages International” Helmut Kutin had a meeting with local administration representatives.

The meeting resulted in completing the Protocol of Intention. The parties considered possibility of further cooperation to support children who are not sufficiently provided for and socially unsecured; to attract local and foreign investments for future projects; to promote the program “SOS-Children’s Village”.

According to Helmut Kutin, the International Charity Organization “SOS Children's Villages International” is willing to continue cooperation with Mogilev region since local administration really supports the project. Within three years Mogilev region built a great social unit that has everything necessary to bring up orphans. “I am sure the region will support other projects including their financial aspects”.

In April 2006 the foundations of the future complex were laid in Surganov Street. It included 13 dwelling houses and an administrative building. The construction itself began only two years later. A general contractor was «Milroy enterprises limited» (Cyprus). On December, 18 2009 the village was put into operation and there was a task to choose SOS-moms.

In January 2010 one of the cottages housed the first dwellers - a former primary school teacher Larisa Martinkevich and two kids Nikita and Dima. Today five SOS-moms and 22 kids live in the villages
