Mogilev region and EU will co-operate in carrying out the project aimed at regional development. The respective agreement was made at today’s meeting of the deputy chairman of Mogilev region executive committee and charge d'affaires of the European Union in Belarus Jean-Eric Holzapfel.
The similar project has already been carrying out in Gomel region; other regions will be involved in the nearest future. The project envisages data, educational and technical help in solving urgent problems in different spheres, but first of all – in promoting rehabilitation and development of areas contaminated after Chernobyl disaster.
Besides, carrying out task-oriented mini-projects, co-operation will promote sustainable development of the region in general. “Thus, in the nearest future we are to work out the programme of co-operation, to sign agreement on co-operation and partnership, as well as the respective financial agreement with the Belarusian government” - the charge d'affaires told.
The programme of co-operation with the European Union aims at development of regions, uniformity of infrastructures and other standards.
