Mogilev Region enterprises increased the value of commodity exports by 22.7% in January-September 2007 in comparison with this time last year to a total of $1,118.9 million, an official with the Foreign Trade Department of Mogilev Region Administration told Interfax.
The value of import increased by 18.6% to $900 million. As a result, the region ended the period with a trade surplus of $219 million against $153.2 million in January-September 2006.
Import growth target for 2007 is 7.5%, while export is expected to rise by 12.5%, the source reminded.
Over the period in question the region exported $16.6 million worth of services (mostly transport and tourism), or 11% up on the year (against the target of 13%). The surplus in foreign trade in services made $8.8 million in January-September 2007, the source reported.
