Mogilev Region enterprises increased the value of commodity exports by 21.8% in January-October 2007 in comparison with this time last year to a total of $1,268.5 million, an official with the Foreign Trade Department of Mogilev Region Administration told Interfax.
Exports rose by 18.6% to reach $1,000.8 million. The region ended the period with a trade surplus of $267.7 million against $198.1 million in January-October 2007.
The yearly export growth target is 17.4%, while import is expected to rise by 8.2%-9.2%, the source reminded.
Import growth target for H1 2007 is 7%, while export was expected to rise by 11%, the source reminded.
Over the period in question the region exported $19 million worth of services (mostly transport and tourism), or 13.7% up on the year (against the target of 11%). The surplus in foreign trade in services made $10.1 million in January-November, the source reported.
