Mogilev Region commissioned 261.4 thousand square metres of housing in the eight-month period, which makes 61.5% of the year target and 17.1% up in comparison with January-August 2006, the Committee for housing construction and investments of the regional administration told Interfax.
As much as 115.3 thousand square metres of houses was commissioned in rural areas (74.8% and 16.5% respectively), the source said.
The proportion of housing commissioned in rural areas in the seven-month period made over 33% of the total number of houses made operational in the region.
The share of housing built on bank loans makes 55.1%, investments of private households – 42.6%.
As reported by the committee, a total of BYR 241 billion was invested in housing construction in Mogilev Region in January-August 2007 (17.2% of the total value of investments).
