Novaya Drut OJSC based in Belynichi District (Mogilev Region) has started to build a starch-making plant, director Igor Bondarev told Interfax.
According to the source, the would-be plant will use potatoes as raw stuff. The enterprise will be fitted with Chinese equipment.
The plant is expected to annually produce 2.2 - 2.8 thousand tonnes of starch out of 12-14 thousand tonnes of potatoes. The daily processing capacity of the enterprise will be 100 tonnes of potatoes, the source reported.
The project is funded by Novaya Drut and the National Bank of Belarus.
Novaya Drut OJSC produces meat and dairy products. This year the company is expected to gather 10-12 thousand tonnes of potatoes to provide the would-be plant with raw stuff.
