Mogilev region will develop museum tourism. The target is put by Anatoly Sinkovets, the head of the central ideology, culture and youth’s affairs office of Mogilev regional executive committee.
Anatoly Sinkovets says that the museums of the region have a good potential to become tourists’ attractions. Last years the museums arranged a number of international exhibition projects, opened new expositions, and got new interesting exhibits.
With the assistance of the CIS executive committee and financial support of the International Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation the museums held the exhibition of works by Alexander Shilov, the People’s Artist of the USSR, and a unique exposition “Mystery of the Cross” at the Maslenikov Museum. Mogilev also arranges a number of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of P.Maslenikov, the People’s Artist of Belarus. The Museum of the History of Mogilev holds the presentation of the Statute of the Great Duchy of Lithuania of 1588.
In 2013 Вr1.1 b was allotted to buy the works by Mogilev’s artists. Kriche museum got rarities for Вr1 b. In 2013 Mogilev region arranged 5,209 culture and education events. The Regional Local History Museum held one fifth of all these events. “Maslenikovskiye Kalyadki” is a bright successful example of music and theatre projects. The event was held at the Regional Art Maslenikov Museum and visited by thousands of people.
According to Anatoly Sinkovets, the region should pay more attention to use the museums’ abilities in educational purposes. The Year of Hospitality should expand the list of events, museum lessons. The region should also develop museum tourism, refresh expositions, improve the museums’ safety systems.
