The forestries of Mogilev Region produced 2.3 million cubic metres of timber in 2007 (2.1 million in 2006). Their wood-working enterprises processed 163,900 cubic metres of timber, which exceeds the target by 12.8%.
Last year Mogilev Region's forestries exported $23.4 million worth of timber, or 47.4% up on the year.
Fixed-capital investments totaled BYR 16,452 million (57% up against the target of 28%).
The return on sales made 37.9%, while the profit of forestries expanded 3.6-fold to BYR 23.4 billion.
Mogilev Region forestries export timber to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc.
Woods cover 37% of the territory of Mogilev Region.
