Mogilev Region Governor Boris Batura and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Poland and Belarus Benedict de Cerjat have met in Mogilev to discuss bilateral co-operation.
The diplomat praised the results of the projects aimed at alleviation of the Chernobyl consequences in Mogilev Region in line with the Swiss humanitarian program. According to the Ambassador, Switzerland is determined to continue cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
The diplomat noted that Belarus and Switzerland have recently expanded co-operation in the sphere of tourism. Yet, the two countries have weak business relations, though there is an opportunity to intensify them.
Mr. Benedict de Cerjat invited Boris Batura to visit Switzerland and present the economic potential of the Mogilev Region to Swiss business circles.
Later the diplomat visited the regional branch of the Red Cross to present them an ambulance car.
A two-day trip of the Swiss Ambassador to Mogilev Region includes a visit to several local companies, such as Mogilevkhimvolokno and Mogilevliftmash, the regional Red Cross branch, Buinichi Field memorial, Mogilev zoo and Slavgorod District.
