An information campaign on social and economic development of Mogilev Region takes place on Thursday, Interfax learnt from the regional ideology department.
The campaign is carried out by representatives of the regional administration, the source specified.
Participants in the campaign inform local residents about the economic performance of the region in 2007, salaries and pensions, social security, healthcare and education.
According to them, the industrial output of the region grew 13.6% on the year in 2007. 78% of companies based in Mogilev Region increased their production volumes.
The output of consumer goods increased by 9.3%.
The agricultural output of Mogilev Region grew 5.5% on the year.
Fixed-capital investments totaled BYR 2.5 trillion, or 18.3% up on the year.
In 2007 the region commissioned 432,100 square metres of housing, including 1,095 dwelling homes in rural areas.
The volume of foreign trade of the region totaled $2.8 million in 2007, while export alone reached $1.6 million. Last year Mogilev Region traded with 121 countries.
