Mogilev region will introduce a modern system of surveillance over the convicted citizens who are not sent to open correctional institution as a punitive measure. The information is provided by Fyodor Baleiko, the head of Mogilev regional internal affairs office.
“We hope the new surveillance technology to assist us in working with this category of citizens. The system is being tested in Minsk region. And this experience is to be adopted by other regions of the county. The convicted citizens who are not sent to open correctional institution as a punitive measure will wear a special bracelet and the base station and a computer will keep their moving under control. It will make it easy to prevent crimes and become a serious restraining factor,” – Fyodor Baleiko says.
According to him, in Mogilev region every second crime is committed by previously convicted citizens. That’s why a lot of attention is paid to the work with this category of people.
