Mogilev Region is planning to invest BYR 162 billion in small town development in 2009, Interfax-West learnt from the regional economy committee.
Next year small towns are going to carry out over 150 investment projects, the source specified.
Most of the projects imply modernization of the existing production facilities, construction of new consumer service facilities and the creation of new jobs.
There will be created 2,700 new jobs, which will reduce the unemployment rate in small towns to 1.2%.
The industrial output is expected to grow by 9%, and the output of consumer goods - by 7.2%.
The number of small enterprises is expected to grow by 1,014 (11%), and the average monthly salary will reach BYR 928,000, the source reported.
