A total of BYR 131.1 billion was invested in housing construction in Mogilev Region in January-May 2007 (18.7% of the total value of funds invested in the region), the Committee for housing construction and investments of the regional administration told Interfax.
The value of housing commissioned in rural areas and small towns accounts for 54.3% of the total funds invested.
In January-May Mogilev Region commissioned 129 thousand square metres of housing, which makes 30.3% of the year target and a 30.2% increase in comparison with January-May 2006.
As much as 77 thousand square metres of houses was commissioned in rural areas (24.2% and 23.8% respectively), the source said.
The proportion of housing commissioned in rural areas in the period made 33.7% of the total number of houses made operational in the region.
The share of housing built on bank loans makes around 52.2%, investments of private households – over 45.6%.
The year 2007 target for Mogilev Region is commission 425 thousand square metres of houses.
