Mogilev Region invested around BYR 354.5 billion in the development of small towns in January-September 2007, Interfax learnt from the Economy Committee of the regional administration.
In particular, BYR 172.4 billion was tied in with 17 investment projects stipulated by the State Development Program for 2007-2010.
According to the source, in January-September Mogilev Region's small towns produced BYR 810.9 billion worth of goods, or 11.5% up on the year. The output of consumer goods rose by 9.5% on the year to reach BYR 326.3 billion.
There were created 3,441 new jobs in small towns of Mogilev Region (including 1,852 in small enterprises).
The unemployment rate stood at 1.9% as of October 1, 2007.
The number of businesses rose by 11.7%, the source added.
