Mogilev Region invested around BYR 5.4 billion in the Rural Revival Program over the past two years, Interfax-West learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
Over the period in question there were built 116 agricultural towns in the region , including 37 in 2007.
There were built 3,716 dwelling homes and apartments (100.2% of the target).
The program enabled local farms to boost their output by 18.7%. The output of grain grew 1.1%, potatoes - 2.4%, vegetables - 1.5%, rape seeds - 4.7%, flax fibre - 3.3%.
77 unprofitable agricultural enterprises were reformed in 2005-2007, and four were sold to investors.
The average salary rose from $121 in 2005 to $185 in 2007.
