Mogilev Region invested around BYR 65 billion in the Quality Program, Interfax learnt from the regional economy committee.
The program stipulated the production of competitive goods and introduction of new resource-saving technologies, modernization of production facilities and certification of products and labor conditions in accordance with the international safety and quality standards, the source reminded.
As of January 1, 2008, 112 companies based in Mogilev Region held STB ISO 9001-2001 certificates, seven companies had ISO 14000 certificates and ten had the right to put CE stamps on their goods. In addition, six local food producers were holders of HACCP certificates.
In 2007 certified goods accounted for 70.9% of the total output of the region (64.6% in 2006), while the share of new goods in the total production volume was 15.8% (15.2% in 2006).
