Mogilev Region has succeeded in meeting all major economic targets in Q1 2007, Chair of the local administration’s Economy Committee Nikolai Dudinski told Interfax.
The area surpassed the forecast for industrial production, consumer goods production, agribusiness output, fixed-capital investments, housing production, energy-saving.
Mogilev Region companies increased output of industrial produce by 19.7% in January-March 2007 (target being 11% for Q1, 12.5-13.5% - for the year).
Production increase was registered in 12 of 13 major industry branches.
In Q1 they commissioned 384.3 thousand square metres of houses (30% up against 2006 figures).
In January-March 2007 the number of business institutions has grown by 6.9%. Private business enterprise account for 21% of Mogilev Region’s local budget proceeds in Q1 2007.
As of April 1 2007, the unemployment rate stood at 1.5% against the forecast of 1.8%. In January-March 2007 they created 4.4 thousand new jobs.
In 2006 they created over 13 thousand new jobs in Mogilev Region.
