Mogilev Region's farms produced around 640,000 tonnes of milk in 2008, or 10% up on the year, Interfax-West has learnt from the regional authority on agriculture and foods.
The average milk yield per cow totaled 4,639 kilos, the source reported.
The region saw meat and poultry sales grow by 6.8% in live weight terms in 2008 to reach 109.3 thousand tonnes.
Local poultry farms produced 248 million eggs (3.2% up).
The total agricultural output rose by 9.1% on the year in comparable prices.
Agribusiness enterprises of Mogilev Region earned a 46.3% higher net profit in 2008 (BYR 185 billion) than in 2007.
At the same time, one agricultural enterprise ended the year with a net loss of BYR 400 million.
The return on sales in 2008 made 9.7%.
