The sales of meat and poultry grew 8.1% in Mogilev Region in January-March 2008 (26,800 tonnes), Interfax learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
The gross milk yield in Mogilev Region rose by 11.5% on the year in Q1 to reach 136,900 tons. The output of eggs totalled 66.5 million (9.5% up).
Milk sales made 112,100 tonnes (81.9% of the gross output) and the average milk yield per cow totalled 994 kilos (1% up).
On the whole, Mogilev Region's agricultural output increased by 8.5% on the year in January-March.
In January-February local agricultural companies, enterprises and organizations earned a net profit of BYR 13.5 billion, or 97.8% up. At the same time, four companies (1.6% of their total number) ended the period with a total net loss of BYR 55 million.
The return on sales stood at 7.2% in January-February 2008 (against 5.2% in January-February 2007).
