The gross milk yield in Mogilev Region rose by 13% on the year in January-February 2007 to reach 75,800 tons, Interfax learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
Milk sales grew 14% (61,800 tons), and the average milk yield per cow increased by 12% to 552 kilos.
According to the source, over the period in question Mogilev Region farms produced over 16,000 tons of cattle and poultry meat, or 9% up on the year. At the same time, the output of eggs decreased by 3% to compare with January-February 2006 to 39.2 million.
The output of vegetables rose 2.5-fold to reach 5.5 tons, the source reported.
On the whole, Mogilev Region's agricultural output increased by 10.5% on the year in January-February 2007, the Q1 target being 1.5%.
