The Trial Description of Mogilev Province issued in 1882-1884 has been re-printed in Mogilev Region on the eve of the Day of the Belarusian Written Language, Interfax learnt from the ideology department of Mogilev Region Administration.
The three-volume book was edited by the then governor Alexander Dembovetski. The reprinting initiative came from his present successor Boris Batura, the source reported.
The book contains information about the geography, economy and population of Mogilev Region that dates back to the late 19th century and a map.
The first volume of the reprinted edition will enter Belarusian public libraries and higher education institutions (500 copies). The two remaining volumes are expected to follow next year, the source added.
