Belarus has announced the names of the most successful women of the year 2012. The awarding ceremony of the winners of the V Republican contest “Women of the year 2012” took place at “Minsk-Arena”.
The major aim of the contest is to evaluate and stress a woman’s role in modern society, and contribution into the nation’s spiritual and moral revival.
The contest was held at all district and regional organizations of “BWU” during the whole previous year. Sixty-one women from different regions partook in the contest.
Winners were chosen in 10 nominations. According to the co-chairman of “BWU” Antonina Morova, women are many-sided personalities, and the nominations prove it. Seven women (the largest number) competed in the nomination “For active public life”, but Frida Talan, chairman of “Vitebskoblgaz” trade union, became the winner.
Galina Kalitenya, director of “Kalinka” (Soligorsk, Minsk region), won in the nomination “For leadership and successful management”; Natalia Solodkaya, teacher of children’s home of family type of Perovimaisky district in Bobruisk, won in the nomination “For achievements in educating children”. Sophia Novik, head of “Tyshkevichi” farm of Ivanovski district, Brest region, was awarded in the nomination “For professional competence”.
“Women-mothers have to make much more efforts to succeed in a profession”, first deputy minister of information Lilia Ananich told. The award in this nomination went to director of JSC “Slodych Confectionery” (Minsk) Tatian Selikh.
Elena Ladeeva, detective of the department of drug and human trafficking of Bobruisk department of internal affairs, was the best in the nomination “For women courage”; manager of garden of “Ostromechivo” agricultural complex (Brest district) Nadezhda Krivolevich, was awarded in the nomination “For contribution into revival of rural areas”. The Merited Master of Culture of Belarus Svetlana Stastenko, artistic director of Mulyavin National Centre of Music Art, deserved the award in the nomination “For contribution into spiritual and moral revival”.
According to the jury’s decision, director of Glebov children’s musical school of arts №10 (Minsk), the Merited Master of Arts of Belarus Tamara Kunitskaya, won in the nomination “For professional devotion”, while the award in the nomination “For successful business début” went to a sole proprietor, instructor of horse club “Bayard” (Borovukha settlement of Novopolotsk district, Vitebsk region) Olga Overianova.
Winners in the nomination “Legendary women” have been chosen for the third time. This year among the awardees were Ljudmila Kalmykova, chairman of Minsk city organization “Belarusian organization of the disabled”; People's Artist of Belarus, the leading artist of the Republican theatre of the Belarusian drama Tatiana Markhel; deputy general development director of JSC “Lenta” (Mogilev) Nina Petrova; artistic director of “Belye rosy” ensemble of music and dance, the Merited Artist of Belarus Vera Chichina.
