The telephone switchboard capacity in Mogilev Region expanded by over 11,000 numbers in January-September 2008, Interfax-West has learnt from the regional administration’s department for transport and communications.
Town-based automatic telephone exchange stations saw their capacity rising by 3,304 numbers, while in rural areas the rise made 7,984 numbers.

In January-September the region doubled broadband Internet access capacity (7,460 ports in total).
Fixed-line phones were installed in five remote villages of Mogilev Region where telephone communication had been unavailable until recently (71.4% of the yearly target).
The landline telephone density in Mogilev Region totaled 369 per capita.
