Mogilev Region is practically through sowing spring crops, the region’s farming authority told Interfax.
As of May 16, they have sown spring crops on an area of 329.7 thousand ha, which makes 100.9% of the plan.
In the four-month period agribusiness production increased by 5% against the forecast of 3% for H1.
During January-April Mogilev hothouses produced 863.4 tonnes of vegetables, 16.4% up.
The gross milk yield in Mogilev Region rose by 10.3% on the year in January-April 2007 to reach 172,100 tons, Interfax learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
Milk sales grew 11.3% (139,000 tons), and the average milk yield per cow increased by 9.6% to 1,255 kilos.
According to the source, over the period in question Mogilev Region farms produced over 33,000 tons of cattle and poultry meat, or 5% up on the year. The output of eggs stood at 82.6 million pieces.
