Mogilev Region spent BYR 699.5 billion on the development of economy and social sphere in January-May 2007, or 41.8% up on the year, Interfax learnt from the committee for investments and construction of the regional administration.
According to the source, construction and assembly accounted for 47% of the investments (40% up on the year).
Expenses related to the purchase of machines, equipment and vehicles totalled BYR 296.5 billion (41.5% up).
BYR 462 billion fell on production facilities (66% of the total amount of investments, 46% up on the year).
Non-production sector investments totalled BYR 237.6 billion (or 35% up on the year), 55% of which was spent on housing construction.
