Mogilev Region produced over 500,000 tonnes of milk in January-September 2008, or 9.3% up on the year, Interfax-West learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
Milk sales totaled 423,000 tonnes, or 84.1% of the total output.
The average milk yield per cow made 3,654 kilos (9.2% up).
Mogilev Region saw meat and poultry sales grow by 10% in live weight terms in January-September 2008 to reach 82.2 thousand tonnes.
Cattle sales grew 7.6%, poultry 21%, pork 5.3%, the officials informed.
Local poultry farms produced 187.8 million eggs (1.7% up).
Agribusiness enterprises of Mogilev Region increased the output by 8.5% on the year in January-September 2008.
Their net profit totaled BYR 132 billion (33% up). At the same time, two agricultural enterprises ended the period with a net loss of BYR 400 million.
The return on sales in January-September 2008 made 9.3%.
