Retail trade turnover in Mogilev Region totalled BYR 3,156.2 billion in January-September 2007, which is 13.4% up on the year, Interfax learnt from the department of trade, public catering and consumer services of Mogilev Region Administration.
The yearly growth target is 9.5%-10.5%, the source reminded.
The value of foodstuffs sold made BYR 1,733 billion, non-foods - BYR 1,423 billion, which is 8.1% and 20.3% up against 2006 respectively.
Public catering companies sold BYR 129.2 billion worth of goods in January-October 2007 (12.2% up).
As far as foods are concerned, meat and poultry sales in Mogilev Region expanded by 6.5%, cheese - 22.6%, vegetable oil - 20.4%, canned fish - 18.8%, juices - 34.8%, canned meat - 13%.
As for non-foods, Mogilev Region saw an increase in sales of footwear - 16.2%, refrigerators and freezers - 14.3%, knitwear - 29%, washing machines - 43.7%, construction materials - 38.6%, bicycles and motorcycles - 12.4%, TV-sets - 6.4%.
As of November 1, 2007 the stocks of ready-made goods stood at BYR 251.6 billion, which ensures 41 days of trade, the source specified.
