The head of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Petr Rudnik met the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Belarus Faruk Takh. He suggested the idea of sister like relations between Mogilev and two Syrian cities – Hama and Homs. According to Faruk Takh, direct contacts are more effective.
Petr Rudnik pointed out the possibility of cooperation in the fields of machine engineering (purchasing Mogilev elevators, Bobruisk tyres), creation of joint assembly agri-machinery businesses. The head of Mogilev Regional Administration proposed Syria to invest in mineral water production.
The direct flight Minsk-Damask will contribute to the cooperation. It will take passengers three hours to get from one capital to the other. To make Belarus-Syria contacts closer there is a possibility to low visa cost for Belarusian tourists. “It will attract Belarusian tourists to Syria,” - Faruk Takh said.
