Mogilev Region's grain drying plants have saved almost BYR 420 million during this year's harvesting campaign, Interfax-West learnt from the Fuel and Energy Department of Mogilev Region Administration.
The source specified that the energy saving program was implemented by 19 grain drying plants of the region.
This year they dried 44,800 tonnes of grain, burning 2,800 tonnes of straws and thus saving 377 tonnes of Diesel fuel.
Next year the region is planning to implement the energy saving scheme at 30 grain drying plants. The upgrading of the plants is expected to pay back in 3-4 years.
In January-August 2008 the region saved 14.3% of fuel and energy resources, the yearly target being 12%.
The consumption of fuel and energy resources shrank by 131,000 tonnes of equivalent fuel, the yearly target being 170,000 tonnes.
