Last year they registered 935 motorway accidents and 154 related deaths, which is 1.3% down on the year.
They also reported 105 registered cases of driving a motor vehicle in a state of alcohol intoxication.
Drivers were found guilty of 81% road accidents, while pedestrians were at fault in 18% of cases.
During the press-conference, agencies concerned reported about accident prevention efforts, which involved free distribution of the so-called flickers (passive light reflectors), which make pedestrians visible at long distances.
