Mogilev and the Russian city of Penza have signed a protocol of intent, an Interfax reporter informs.
The protocol stipulates bilateral co-operation in the spheres of culture, economy, trade, public relations, sport and tourism.
According to the Foreign Trade Department of Mogilev City Hall, last year the trade turnover between Mogilev and Penza Region totaled $1.1 million (7% up on the year).
In January-April 2008 the trade turnover grew 2.7-fold to reach $0.7 million.
Mogilev exports to Penza Region elevators, machines and equipment, plastic and ferrous metals.
In return the city imports industrial furnaces, textiles, pasta, bakery and confectionery.
