The number of crimes committed by the minors in Mogilev Region in 2007 reduced by 12.9% on the year, vice chief of the region administration’s juvenile probation commission Petr Gusarov told Interfax.
The thoroughly planned campaign they conducted last year to prevent juvenile crime in the region produced a positive change in 19 of the region’s 25 districts.
The number of gross crimes (robberies, thefts, murders), including offences committed in a state of alcohol intoxication dropped by 0.5 percentage points to 7.2%.
At the same time, the crime situation aggravated in six districts: Kirovsk, Krasnopolie, Mogilev, Chaussy, Slavgorod and Pervomaiski District of Bobruisk.
The official believes agencies concerned should do a better prevention jobs by targeting risk-group families.
