Mogilev Region’s Vice Governor Vladimir Kravtsov has had a meeting Friday with a workgroup of experts from Mogilev and Smolensk, Interfax reports.
The move is intended to pave the way for more effective bilateral business cooperation.
Smolensk is Mogilev’s biggest trade partner among other Russian regions, with 4.7% of the total trade turnover with Russia. The total value of transactions between Mogilev and Smolensk last year stood at $74 million, of which Mogilev’s exports account for $51.5 million.
Smolensk eagerly imports Mogilev’s tyres, chemical fibres, elevators, other commodities. In turn, Mogilev imports basic materials for chemical and metallurgical industries.
