Mogilev started the 65th Victory anniversary celebration with the meeting at “Buinichi Field” memorial complex. Flowers and garlands were laid by the heads of Regional and City Executive Committees, representatives of defence and law enforcement agencies, enterprises of Mogilev region, public organizations, veterans, delegates of twin-cities, students.
The national anthem of the Republic of Belarus, a minute of silence, gun volleys began the ceremony remembering those heroic war years. According to Petr Rudnik, the head of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, our respect to the veterans of the Great Patriotic war can not be limited by the celebrations dedicated to the Victory. In our country care about veterans is the state policy priority. Those who survived the war and brought us the Victory can always rely on our assistance.
A lot of young people participated in the ceremony. It is a good sign of continuity of the traditions. That day some of them were admitted to the BRSM and the others became pioneers.
To show their respect and gratitude young people presented the veterans with flowers. 65 balloons flew high in to the sky symbolizing the best wishes for all the citizens of Mogilev region. The ceremony was followed by a fascinating show performed by sportsmen from Mogilev aero club and parachutists.
