OJSC “Tekhnopribor” started production of energy saving light-emitting diode lamps for housing and communal services, the chief engineer of the plant Alexei Shupick informed.
Lamps of the kind are used as courtesy lamps, and in the system of standby lighting of utility rooms, corridors, staircases, basements, etc.
Light-emitting diodes let considerably reduce energy consumption and promote a high level of vibration resistance. Besides, LED lamps are resistible to climatic factors and weather changes – they are efficient starting from 40 C degrees below zero to 60 С degrees above zero, and their lifetime is 8 years minimum, i.e. 100,000 hours. Movement or noise sensor may be additionally built into LED lamps. So far the enterprise has produced 1,000 of LED lamps that were installed into four blocks of flats in Mogilev and contributed to 50-70 % reduction of energy consumption.
The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services showed interest in LED lamps; talks are being held with utility services organisations of Mogilev region about producing and supplying 30,000 LED lamps. Besides, specialists of the plant are monitoring the Russian market
