Mogilev welcomes Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador in Belarus Ali Teimur ogly Nagiev

It is for the forth time when Ali Teimur ogly Nagiev has visited Mogilev. According to the policy of developing Azerbaijan – Belarusian co-operation, and thanks to Azerbaijan Republic Embassy in Belarus Mogilev and Sumgait have been working for strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relationships. International Protocol between the two cities was signed in 2007. In July 2009, Sumgait delegation visited celebrations during the Day of Mogilev city; since than Sumgait has been the twin city of Mogilev.

Having studied the economic potential of the regional centre, the Ambassador has shown special interest in chemical industry of Mogilev. Stanislav Borodavko in his turn pointed to steady growth of trade turnover between the countries that have been taking place during the last 2 years. Thus, just during two months of 2010 the volume of Mogilev – Azerbaijan trade made up $348.6 thous, i.e. 114.7% compared to the corresponding period of the year 2009; respectively, exports made up $182.3 thous, and imports – $166.3 thous.

In 2009 Azerbaijan imported 67 lifts produced by RUE “Mogilevliftmash”. Besides lifts, Azerbaijan imports fluid pumps, textile, synthetic fibres. Azerbaijan exports inorganic chemical compounds, textile, fruits and vegetables, etc.
During his visit, the Ambassador laid a wreath on a memorial of the Soviet Union Hero, the Great Patriotic War veteran, Aslan Farhad ogly Vesirov.
