Mogilevliftmash UE seeks to start joint production of passenger elevators in Azerbaijan, CEO Petr Rudnik told Interfax.

The parties are now verifying specifications and are currently in talks over an elevator assemblage project in Baku.

Mogilevliftmash UE boosted elevator exports by 38.6% in January-June 2007, a company representative told Interfax.

The source attributes the growth to an expansion of exports to the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. In H1 2007 Russia accounted for 68.3% of the company’s exports, the source reported.

Over the period in question Mogilevliftmash produced BYR 124.8 billion worth of goods, or 32.2% up on the year. Consumer goods output rose by 7.3% to reach BYR 9.7 billion.

Mogilevliftmash produced 3,097 units of elevating equipment of different modifications, the source specified.

The source attributes the rise in production volumes to the upgrade of production facilities. In January-June as much as BYR 8.5 billion has been tied in fixed capital investments.

The large-scale facility retooling campaign not only facilitated a surge in production and exports, but also made it possible to expand the product range and launch new elevator series. New products account for 30% of the range.

Mogilevliftmash makes a wide range of passenger elevators (400-1,000 kg), cargo elevators (100-5,000 kg), cargo-passenger, hospital and specific elevators. Besides, the enterprise rolls out equipment and components for replacement and modernisation.
