Mogotex OJSC (Mogilev) increased export by 19.8% on the year in Q1 2007, bringing it to $9.2 million, a company representative told Interfax.
In January-March 2007 the company exported 5.2 million running metres of textiles and cotton fabrics (4.4% up), with 4 million running metres falling on Russia (3.1% up).
The source attributes the growth to an increase in exports to the development of the company’s commodity distribution network abroad – 9 joint ventures and 3 dealers in Russia, 3 joint ventures and 2 dealers in Ukraine, a representative office in Lithuania, and a dealer in Moldova. The company is also seeking to open representative offices in Germany, Poland and Serbia.
Today Mogotex offers over 400 fabric titles for overalls, raincoats, lining, furnishing, men and women garments, shutters, curtains, etc. Clothes fabrics account for 65% of the total output, interior fabrics – 25%, technical fabrics – 10%.
In January-March the company produced 8.9 million running metres of fabrics, 4.5% up on the year.
In value terms, Mogotex manufactured BYR 50.4 billion worth of goods, or 8.7% up on the year. Consumer goods output grew 10.8% (BYR 28.8 billion).
Fabric design and production meets ISO 9001 quality management system standards testified by certificates of the Belarusian State Standard Committee and German TUY CERT.
The company was founded in 1973. It employs 4,200 people.
