Mogotex OJSC (Mogilev) exported $35.1 million worth of goods to Russia 2008, or 10.4% up on the year, a company representative told Interfax-West.

The source attributes the rise in exports to high quality standards and the well-developed commodity distribution network in Russia.

In the meantime, the eleven-month volume of commodities shipped to foreign states surged 5.6% to $43.1 million.

Over the period in question the company exported 21.5 million metres of fabrics, including 17.1 million to Russia.

The company has nine joint ventures and three dealers in Russia, three JVs and two dealers in Ukraine, a representative office in Lithuania, as well as dealership centres in Moldova, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Poland, Mongolia, Uzbekistan.

Mogotex OJSC is one of the largest producers of textiles in Russia and the CIS.

Today Mogotex offers over 120 fabric titles for overalls, raincoats, lining, furnishing, garments, shutters, curtains, etc. the company also makes 500 kinds of garments. Clothes fabrics account for 65% of the total output, interior fabrics - 25%, technical fabrics - 10%.

Fabric design and production meets ISO 9001 quality management system standards testified by certificates of the Belarusian State Standard Committee and German TUY CERT.

The company was founded in 1973. It employs 4,200 people.

In January-December 2008 Mogotex produced BYR 245.7 billion worth of goods, or 10.4% up on the year. The output of consumer goods grew 10.3% to reach BYR 142.4 billion. In physical terms the company produced 36.9 million running metres of fabrics in 2008 (6.8% up).
