In Mogilev region the number of places in pre-school educational establishments exceeds the needs. At the same time there is a shortage of places in kindergartens in new micro-districts and point housing sites. The problem is caused by the fact that houses and kindergartens are not put into processing simultaneously.
According to Leonid Smotritsky, the head of the Education Department of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, the problem can be solved by construction of new kindergartens. Each of them will cost the local budget about Br25 bln. A list of objects to be constructed by 2014 includes 14 pre-school educational establishments: 7 – in Mogilev, 4 – in Bobruisk; Gorky, Krichev and Mstislavl will get a kindergarten each.
Other measures include crowding of kindergarten groups, reprofiling of premises, giving up the idea of housing first form pupils in kindergartens. If there is a necessity a monitoring will be carried out and some kids will be driven to neighbouring kindergartens.
