A modern Ferro-concrete sleeper-manufacturing line opens at the Ferro-Concrete Structures Plant in Osipovichi. The information is provided by the press-service of Belarusian Railways.
450 000 Ferro-concrete railway sleepers a year are necessary to develop the infrastructure of Belarusian railways. At the moment two plants are producing Ferro-concrete railway sleepers - "Plant SZhB-11" (Svetlogorsk) and "Spetszhelezobeton" (Mikashevichi). They produce 290 000-340 000 railway sleepers a year. It's not enough. "The new project will keep Belarusian Railways well supplied with sleepers, contribute to safety of train trips and increase through speed," - specialists noted.
