November, 5 Mogilev regional court delivered a verdict on the case of murder of two women. Nikolai Timoshenko was sentenced to life-term imprisonment.
The case was investigated for 6 months. A court trial lasted for two working weeks. The defendant was found guilty of intentional homicide and of double homicide. Nikolai Timoshenko will serve a life-term in a high security prison. He will also be forced to undertake chronic alcoholism treatment.
On March, 23 a dismembered corpse of a 35-year old woman was found in Fatina Street (Mogilev). The other person’s body parts were found on March, 31. Mogilev was shocked by cruel murders. Some weeks later militiamen arrested a suspect. He lived in the area where dismembered corpses were found. He pleaded guilty and began giving evidence.
In September 2010 the criminal case on Part 2 Article 139 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“Extremely cruel homicide”) was sent by the prosecutor’s office of Mogilev region to the court.
