The “Olympiets” Sports Complex celebrated Mogilev region sportsmen and physical culture workers. Among them there were the winners of the World’s and European tournaments, Winter Olympics, Para-Olympics in Vancouver.
Petr Rudnik, the head of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, turned to the participants of the celebration with his best wishes. In his words, the citizens of Mogilev region are getting more used to a healthy way of life. By today Mogilev region has got 170,000 amateur sportsmen. In 2009 over 550,000 citizens of Mogilev region took part in different sports events and competitions. In 2005 the region had only 130,000 amateur sportsmen.
According to Petr Rudnik, the region will continue to show best sports result in both professional and amateur levels. He thanked the sportsmen for their achievements and awarded the winners of the World’s and European tournaments, Winter Olympics, Para-Olympics in Vancouver with presents and diplomas. The awarding list included the names of Sergey Novikov, Vasily Shapteboi, Vitaly Derbenev, Valery Rodevich, Nadezhda Belskaya.
