A heat power plant at Osipovichi gas storage will be commissioned in 2008, head of Osipovichi branch of Beltransgaz OJSC Nikolai Kravchenko told reporters.
The 1.2 megawatt plant will provide the storage with electric power and 65% of heat energy. The estimated cost of the project is $1.5 million, and the payback period makes 3.6 years. The project is expected to help the company annually save 2,900 tonnes of equivalent fuel (BYR 350 million).
According to the source, the project may be extrapolated to other Beltransgaz sites if it proves to be expedient.
