Mogilev Region is planning to create 18,100 new jobs in 2008, Interfax learnt from the regional committee for labor, employment and social security.
550 jobs will be created at the cost of the Social Security Fund of Belarus, the source specified.
The relevant authorities are expected to help 26,300 unemployed people find jobs.
These will include 2,100 persons who cannot compete on the domestic labor market on equal terms (persons under 21 who have never been employed, physically challenged persons, convicts).
By the end of 2008 the region's unemployment rate is expected to make 1.6%.
